Football Downtime in Summer?

Football Training = No Days Off!!

If you are a high school football player then you have about a week off before summer weight lifting starts. The problem with this downtime is that many players won’t take advantage of it. You take about 2 finals a day even if you worked out for 30 minutes a day you would benfit. The thing to remember is when you play football there are no days and no plays off.

Don’t Take it the Wrong Way

Now don’t misinterpret what I am saying becase during the season your coach will give you a designated day off. And due to vigorous training and mntal stress that’s exactly what it should be - a designated day off.

Improving Yourself as Player

I heard a surprising remark from my right tackle I mentioned early this week: “I need to work on my endurance this summer” he knows that’s what it is going to take to be successful all summer, and Im going to be right with him. But on that note at the end of summer weight lifting both high school and college football players will get 1 week off. By all means take care of your body put your feet and don’t blow all that hardwork on a party.

If you are taking some time off when you start this summer make sure you train hard and train till failure. Then go home and eat properly enough food enough protein carbs and fats also called macronutrients. Like Coach C said if you eat properly you won’t need the creatine and all that gnc crap.

In Closing

In closing you already know football players get no days off…Do you want to be Good or Great? Just ask that question and put the effort into your preparation. Well Until next time…
